Fatu Feu'u

Feu'u is a Samoan Artist. He live in Auckland, Born in 1946. He grew up in the Village of Poutasi in the district of Falealili in Samoa. He moved to New Zealand in 1966.
Fatu Feu'us work is inspired by polynesian art forms such as Siapo (tapa cloth) and alsotatau (tattoo) weaving, Carving and ceremonial mask making. Basically his work is based on his Heritage/Culture that inspires him and also his work blends traditional and contemporary elements, techniques and mofits from Samoa and New Zealand and more generally from Europe American to Pacific cultures. What I want to experience from him is that I want to start painting on Tapa Cloth with Ink. Some of his paintings are used in colored crayons or using pastels. Also uses wood materials.

Ulu malauli
This art of his sorta tells me hes into colorful colors and also I notice he uses dark colors. nothing brighter, yellow is but its not that bright if people looks at it. I love his art layout, its more like a ongoing art, round art.
Medium and Materials
lithograph with wood block
I love how he uses the Tapa cloth for his art. probably uses ink on his arts and other things to draw. His lines are bold, thick and delicate because its based on his heritage and also simple for people to see.
